چکیده

Abstract Nanotoxicology remains an important and emerging field since only recent years have seen the improvement of biological models exposure setups toward real-life scenarios. The appropriate analysis nanomaterial fate in these conditions also required methodological developments imaging to become sensitive enough element specific. In last 2–4 years, impressive breakthroughs been achieved using electron microscopy, nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence or fluorescent sensors. this review, basics approaches application examples study systems will be described highlight successes field.

Imaging the cell surface and its organization down to the level of single molecules.

Determining the organization of key molecules on the surface of live cells in two dimensions and how this changes during biological processes, such as signalling, is a major challenge in cell biology and requires methods with nanoscale spatial resolution and high temporal resolution. Here, we review biophysical tools, based on scanning ion conductance microscopy and single-molecule fluorescence...

Organelle targeting: third level of drug targeting

Drug discovery and drug delivery are two main aspects for treatment of a variety of disorders. However, the real bottleneck associated with systemic drug administration is the lack of target-specific affinity toward a pathological site, resulting in systemic toxicity and innumerable other side effects as well as higher dosage requirement for efficacy. An attractive strategy to increase the ther...

Hybrid Organometallic-Inorganic Nanomaterial: Acetyl Ferrocene Schiff base Immobilized on Silica Coated Magnetite Nanoparticles

In  this  work,  a  new  hybrid  organometallic-inorganic  hybrid nanomaterial was prepared by immobilization of acetyl ferrocene on the  surface  of magnetite  nanoparticles. Covalent  grafting of silica coated magnetite nanoparticles (SCMNPs) with 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane gave aminopropyl-modified magnetite nanoparticles (AmpSCMNPs). Then, Schiff base condensation  of AmpSCMNPs with acet...

Imaging and quantifying the morphology of an organic-inorganic nanoparticle at the sub-nanometre level.

The development of hybrid organic-inorganic nanoparticles is of interest for applications such as drug delivery, DNA and protein recognition, and medical diagnostics. However, the characterization of such nanoparticles remains a significant challenge due to the heterogeneous nature of these particles. Here, we report the direct visualization and quantification of the organic and inorganic compo...
